A couple years ago, I met a wonderful couple. We seemed to connect and it was more than the fact that they went to college with my dad. Over the next couple of years, we kept in touch and that led to a photo session at their home. 

And what a beautiful home they have. Nestled in the rolling hills of Chester County, their 1850s log home was rebuilt on the current site.  For me, I love anything historic and to see the crown notches and chinking up close in a beautiful wooded setting was breathtaking. The craftsmanship of the hand-hewn logs and the brownish-grey patina from years of being exposed to the elements made the perfect backdrop for this photo session.

Mid-morning on a summer Saturday found us wandering around their property, looking for just the right angles that would highlight not only this charming house, but the delightful couple that calls this place home. They were so gracious and made this session fun and easy.  There was plenty of laughter too!  One of the things about doing a session at someone’s home is how natural it is.  Not just the natural beauty that’s around in a woodsy setting, but because this is where they are the most comfortable and relaxed.

When are you at your best?  It’s when you are in your element… the place you feel like you can be yourself.  And those are the photo sessions that are the best.  The sessions when you don’t have to pose or force yourself to create a look, but the ones that allow you to feel at ease and truly be who you are.
